Payload Engineering, Software,
High Altitude Balloon Program
Summer 2025
Apply Payload Engineering, Software, Operations (PESO) skills to launch a payload and with R&D project. Design, build, and launch high altitude balloon. Apply systems integration, code, & data analysis to operate in Earth's atmosphere. Become immersed in R&D experience (mostly online) to design and support aerostat balloon demo on Earth. Apply engineering and aerospace principles and math, to model flight performance, GNC, TT&C, and more.

Satellite Build & Engineering(SBE)
Spring 2025
Design, build, and operate a spacecraft beyond Earth orbit. Learn physics of space, orbit maneuvering, Coding for Space, GNC, Microcontrollers, and more. The online course immerses participants in a research intensive course to build, assemble a cubesat. Engage in discussions on applying to R&D, sensor fusion integration, experiments, software, & systems.

Masters Program (MSc) in Space Physics and Engineering(SPE)
1.5 to 2 Years
Earn a Masters Degree (MSc or MEng) online in 2 years with part time or full time course schedule. Earn 25 graduate-level course credits with 4 core on astrophysics, Planetary Sciences & Atmospheres, Data Analysis, and Space Systems Engineering. In one of two Master's tracks on Astrophysics or Planet Sciences Track, credits may be transferred upon successful review. Advance R&D and work with Faculty Advisor on a Thesis track (6CR) optional to culminate in thesis presented defended to earn your Masters Degree.
Previous Courses

Microcontroller Build and Engineering (MBE 312)
Summer 2024
Learn how to build, program, and operate microcontrollers. The 7-day course is primarily in-person and online cohosted by Magneto Space. MBE312 course immerses participants in a research intensive course to program your own custom microcontroller with TinkerCAD, software of choice (C++/Python) for products, experiments, and more.

Venus Science Engineering (VSE-311)
Summer 2023
Learn how to design, build, and operate systems, robots, and aerostats in Venus atmosphere. Immersive R&D experience (mostly online) to design and support aerostat balloon demo on Earth as an analogue in Venus clouds. Apply engineering and aerospace principles and math, to model flight performance, turbulence, performance, and more.

Independent Study (IND) 495 /
IND 695
2025
Advance research and development (R&D) on a special topic in collaboration with a Faculty member, mentor, and/or advisor for 1-3 CR on the undergraduate (IND495) /graduate (IND695) level. The online course culminates in a comprehensive written report, presentation, and/or examination.
